1972 Monte Carlo

"The 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was billed as "America's most attainable luxury car." The personal-luxury Monte Carlo flaunted a cleaner front-end appearance with parking lights flanking a fresh wide-mesh grille. Rear ends stuck with tall vertical taillights but added a horizontal bright trim strip above the bumper. No more Super Sport options were available as marketers did not want to dilute the Monte Carlo's luxury image. Lack of such fittings as a floor shift or hood scoops was seen as a bonus, rather than a detriment, for this "beautifully quiet, quietly beautiful" coupe."

According to the owner this Monte Carlo is a combination of an excellent original with some extensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration completed in 2008.  Not a #1 show car, but very nicely done with a beautiful professional paint job in the original black. The engine is a completely rebuilt Chevy 350 from 1973 with some performance upgrades, mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The exterior chrome and trim was either replaced or redone, the interior appears to be original and in incredible condition. The undercarriage is extremely nice and was cleaned, soda plasted and coated with Por 15. For all the car guys out there what follows are the details.

This car is nice enough to have received some awards at a few local and regional car shows in the past couple of years. It looks and rides terrific and with the performance upgrades really does move!  You could jump in this car and drive it anywhere. If you have been looking for a turn key Monte Carlo at a reasonable price, that really needs nothing, you would be hard pressed to find a nicer one!

Included in the sale will be a binder full of receipts detailing the restoration, the original owners manual, some of the car show awards and some judging sheets.
